What I Learned at AI Edge Summit: The Second Brain Stack

I recently attended AI Edge Summit in Sioux Falls, where I joined The Second Brain Stack workshop led by Dan Klosterman of EdgeTeam. It was a great opportunity to learn, think about where AI is heading, and spend time with ideas that are already changing how people approach their work.

The workshop focused on moving beyond one prompt in one chat at a time: coordinating multiple AI agents, giving them shared context, and putting guardrails in place so their work can be reviewed and trusted. That framing stood out to me. The opportunity is not just to use more AI tools; it is to design a system where the tools have clear roles, useful context, and appropriate oversight.

I came away thinking about a few practical principles:

  • Shared context matters. Useful AI work depends on giving agents the information they need without losing track of where that information came from.
  • Coordination takes design. Splitting work across agents can help, but their responsibilities and handoffs need to be clear.
  • Guardrails are part of the solution. Automation should include ways to check results and keep people responsible for important decisions.
  • The human role is changing, not disappearing. We still need to define the problem, direct the work, evaluate the output, and decide what is ready to use.

The summit was energizing, and I learned a lot from the session’s practical focus. I especially appreciated the reminder that meaningful AI adoption is about more than trying the newest tool. It takes curiosity, thoughtful experimentation, and the discipline to connect new capabilities to real problems.

Continuing to learn is an important part of working in technology. The tools and techniques keep changing, and making time to understand them helps me make better decisions about what is useful, what is ready, and how it can be applied responsibly. That willingness to learn and adapt is one way I can keep bringing fresh, practical thinking to my work.

I left AI Edge Summit with new ideas to explore and a clearer perspective on how multi-agent approaches might fit into automation. I’m looking forward to putting those ideas to thoughtful use.
